Default 06 sl engine replacement

Hey guys I recently. Bought a 2006 altima sl and after a day or two I noticesd a sticker under the hood that said this engine has been replaced by nissan and has an extended 100k mile warranty I was just wondering if there was any chance it could have been replaced with a v6. And also pros and cons for this situation thanks guys

Interesting that the engine has been replaced. Did they tell you that before you bought it? If you were under the hood you would have seen the 3.5 V6 engine cover staring back at you. You can't miss it.

I dont think the 06 come with SL model. If it is replaced before, i think the engine was blown before the warranty was over. Good thing is the motor is replaced. Bad thing is , you dont know when was it replaced. Nissan wouldnt do any I4 to V6 conversion, they dont wanna deal with any problem like that and it is not worth it. Just open your hood and you will see is a I4 looking at you or V6 staring at you, like Mike said.

Nissan recalled a certain Vin range from having intake throttle screws come loose and cause major engine issues. Depending on what was found when the mechanic took the intake manifold off, they were given authorization to replace the engine. And for the misfortune of having that repair work done Nissan decided to extend the factory warranty as a goodwill (courtesy).
