Default 1993 Nissan Altima brake lights!

I have a 1993 Nissan Altima, and i'm hoping someone will be able to help me with my problem.. The outer brake light bulbs go out when the brake pedal is pushed... but the inner ones get brighter.. Is this normal, or is there a grounding problem with my wire?? If there's a grounding problem.. where should I start to look for the wire at?

Thank you very much for all of your help, this is very annoying, and dangerous!

When you pull the light bulb housing out there will be a ground wire with a screw in the plastic housing. Check there first to see if it is corroded. If it is not and just stripped out like mine then you can try and solder it like I'm going to do when I get off for christmas.
