I just bought a '95 Altima, and the transmission wont shift at all in the forward gears. It is stuck in 3rd I believe. It still goes in park and reverse. OD isn't working either.

There is a hose on top of the transmission that goes to a vacuum source possibly. It is disconnected. I can't figure out where it goes, maybe that is my problem.

a pricture would confirm but if the top it has an inverted 'u' shape, then yes

the hose you are describing does not have a destination point. it is a vent for the auto transmission.
