I have a 2008 Nissan Altima Sedan with a 6-speaker system. About 2 weeks ago, my speakers began to rattle. I went to a Nissan dealership and asked if they could replace them and they said that the speakers were not busted and there was nothing they could do.

My question is... does anyone have a diagram showing how to remove the back shelf from my speakers so that I can put some foam to help with the rattling?

I appreciate any service.

Your speakers are not suppose rattle. I would talk to the general manager instead of the service reps. Your car is new and they should at least take it apart and make sure all the nuts and bolts are in place. Try again, don't give up.

I had one the other day that when you had the radio loud there would be a rattle above the rear windshield in the head liner. Put some foam in and it took care of it. We did it under warranty so I don't know why they won't help you out. Maybe take it to another dealership??

That rear deck is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to remove. You need to bring it in and talk to a service manager about this issue and have him replace or repair it.

Do you have a sunroof? My 08 Altima SL has a sunroof and Bose system. Everytime I turned it up I got a really bad vibration from the headliner. I took it to the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do because the headliner is loose in certain areas due room needed for the sunroof to slide into. I was beside myself when I asked the service manager if he was expecting me to accept that this was a flaw that they could not fix and he said, "yes, there is just nothing we can do." So, I just went home, bought some thick velcro, and wedged it between the back window frame and the headliner. No more rattle. Really unhappy with the dealer, and I let them know!!

I would NOT take that from the dealer. I also have the sunroof like you and have installed bass. NO RATTLE. Take it back and make them fix it, or take it somewhere else. That is pure crud. How you liking that Bose? I love Bose!

Love the Bose! It is the best stock system out there for the big three. I think my hearing will go bad soon because it just sounds so good loud! Unfortunately, I have to say that it is one of the only things I like about the car. Even though it is a beautiful car, there seems to be a lot of flaws. Must be because this one was made in Mississippi, not Japan. We also own a Honda and what a HUGE difference in customer service. When I go to the Honda dealership, everyone is nice and helpful. I have gone to two Nissan dealerships and both were rude, unhelpful and stupid!

I used to own an Accord coupe before the Altima. I am not having ANY problems with the Altima or the dealer. When i bought it, they tried messing with my interest rate, but i straightened that out real quick. My Accord and Altima were made in the US. Both didn't and don't have problems. Maybe you have a lemon... I would read the pamphlet that came with your car regarding the lemon law. I believe if your car has at least 5 of the problems, then it qualifies to be a lemon unless it is a safety hazard (like your seat). Anyways, I am glad you like the Bose. My aunt has it in her '05 and it is incredible. I wonder what the NEW Bose system sounds like in the new Altima; didn't get to test it out at the dealer. I hear it has a subwoofer now..
