Default 30000 mile service

hi! My 2.5s 2007 altima is approaching the 30000 mile service interval and i was just looking over the maintenance schedule, and am unsure whether to go with the premium service or the regular. Also anyone have any estimates on how much it would cost for either? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks

It is almost never a question to opt for the premium/severe service schedule. In this case, it is fancy oil change (oil, air, and cabin air filters and rotate tires, inspect all the other stuff) versus an actual service in which more fluids are changed (transmission & coolant) and belt as well.

The only item on that list I would question is the belt - let the mechanic use his or her judgement. If it's close to the end of its life, replace & be done, but if it's still plenty good, not cracked or glazed, etc, then don't worry about replacing it. Aside from that, changing those fluids at 30,000 is a MUST.

You'd probably pay about $100 for the standard service at one of our local shops (here in PA), or about $300 for the premium service. That's just a guesstimate on my part. Given the unique nature of the transmission (and I can't believe I'm actually recommending this), this type of service is probably best performed at the dealer (ugh, that was painful). Odds are, the dealership has their own service schedule they will try to sell you on - don't do it. Use the one in your owner's manual, it is there for a reason!

Good luck.

i actually just said f it and got it done from a private shop..NISSAN BERGENFIELD (i am from nyc but go to school and live mostly in nj during semester) was charging me 450 dollars (after a supposed 100 dollar special off something) for an oil change, filters change and wheel alignment, so i said im ok.....i ended up paying 20 dollars for all of the things...replacement of cabin filter, air filter oil and oil filter, full inspection of the car undercarriage, road test, brake inspection, cvt fluid inspection, etc.....i paid 42 dollars for 5 quarts of mobil1 fully synthetic, 10 dollars k and n filter, beck arnsley air filter (which didnt fit so will have to get another) and a t and y cabin air filter for 17, all in all it cost me 100 dollars for a full inspection of the car......and i have extended warranty (non nissan) from the lien holders, hence i wasnt worried about warranty expiration....

hence thanks for the reply bro appreciated once more

I never did my 30K at the dealer, I went to a private shop I know the guys for years, they never tell me the wrong thing. If it needs something they will tell me they are very honest in telling me what my car needs. The Nissan dealer wanted to do EVERYTHING!! I mean everything for 850.00!!! I was like hell no! I'll just go get another car thats NOT a Nissan before I spend 850! as of right now my car has 62K on it I did my sevices when needed, and never had trans issues or motor issues.
