Hello,

My wife owns a 2003 Altima 4cyl. It's really been a good car. It's got about 80K miles on it now and the only real work on it has been a broken door latch (pull inside handle, door doesn't open) and a couple of weeks ago I had an ignition coil replaced. For about 3 months before the coil was replaced, it had been missing for maybe 20 minutes every couple of weeks. Then a couple of weeks ago, it suddenly started missing on and off just about all the time. I took it to a local import shop and they replaced a coil and everything's been fine since then.

I also own a 1992 Maxima GXE and have been using the maxima.org forum like crazy. On the Maxima, I have replaced fuel injectors, the front bumper cover, driver's side door hinges, and have a replacement cluster and turn signal that need to be installed.

For the Altima, I need to replace the in-cabin filter (or just remove it, I think it's starting to stink), I need to figure out a noise like something is loose in the back end (it started not long after some recal work involving a crosss member in the back).

Welcome!! I think you should buy a new cabin air filter. It isn't good without one.

I think Autozone has one for $24. I'll have to check and see what one costs at the dealership.
