Default Anybody use H&R springs to lower their Altima ??

I have ordered a set of H&R springs to lower my 07 Altima 3.5. I went with the H&R's because when done the space between the top of front and rear wheels to the body will be the same.

Just curious to see if anybody else has used H&R springs before I go thru and make the change.

I considered them before getting my Eibachs, I only went with the Eibachs because I found them cheaper on a sale. I agree the rear "sag" of the Eibachs does bug me at times. Eager to see your results...

I have H&R springs for mine but havent installed them yet...Was very impressed with them on my accord .... I looked at all the reviews on other cars of Eibach vs H & R and it was pretty split 50 /50 with H & R tending to sag less and handle better and Eibachs riding softer and being less expensive....I liked the handling on the freeway with my accord and the even drop w no sag so I think you made a good choice

I have H&R springs in my 07 3.5 6 speed. I love em. The ride is not too harsh. The only thing I would caution you with is if you have a y pipe it might scrape on taller bumps. Go with the H&R springs they are too cheap to pass up. I like how the car sits, you will too.

hey blazerK5drew, can you post pics of your drop? I'm thinking of re-doing my suspension with the H&Rs if they really do make the car look more evenly lowered. I had a set of H&R Sport springs on my 94 Z28 and loved them, think I may go back to them...

Thanks for posting, they do seem to sit lower in the front than the Eibachs. Hmmm, I may switch up... How would you say the car rides compared to stock?

The ride is slightly stiffer than stock....but the springs are progressive just like the eibachs. For me it took only about a couple of days to get used to.. My friend has the eibachs on his coupe and i noticed the rear sag. if you look under at the rear springs the lighter rate section looks completely compressed. Im not sure if that is by design or not. as easy as it is to change the rear springs, i would just swap the rears.

So I now want H&R's instead of Eibach - thanks lol. Really though, did any of you install them yourself? I am going to do this eventually but refuse to pay $200-400 labor its a ripoff anyway. My question is about the alignment. Where, how far and what recommendations do you have for a place to do it? I have an NTB about 4 miles from my house, but also just bought brand new tires! You think they would be able to align it right, or should I take it to somewhere more specialized?

The rear springs are soooo simple. With the car secure on jack stands, jack up the control arm slightly and remove the bottom bolt. SLOWLY lower the jack and the spring and control arm will come down, releasing the spring....install new spring, jack the control arm back up and replace bolt. Alignment is difficult on the front of these cars because there is really not camber adjustment. An aftermarket camber kit will fix this. I was able to align my car enough though without.

Caution: you are working with stored energy on the springs so make sure your using a good, sturdy jack on level ground.

To do the fronts you will need to remove the struts. The struts will need to be put in a spring compressor to release tension on the top bolt. I picked up a spring compressor from harbor freight a while back for darn cheap if i recall.

Although not required, I used air tools on the front because the bolts can be rather hard to get out.

NTB should be able to get the alignment done right.....in about 4-5 hrs haha! yes, you will need an alignment especially with new meats.

Hope this helps.

Does H&R make a camber kit like the Eibach one?

My alignment was pretty close, my issue was in the rear of the car. Couldn't get it perfect, so close as possible had to do. The front actually went into spec, barely, but within spec.

hmmm...Superpug not sure what year your car is but I found these. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to switch yet so I didn't buy them...
