Hey...new member to the site. Not sure if this question has been asked yet. I recently bought a 2008 Altima 2.5s Sedan and am planning to put some exhaust on it. My question is do any of you out there know who makes an exhaust that would give my car a deeper rumble instead of a "Coffee Can" sound? I know I have a 4 Cylinder and it's kind of hard. Just thought I would throw it out there. Thanks.

If you don't already have an intake, you might be surprised by the kind of aggressive growl you'll get. I've gotten car alarms to chirp while driving by... and definitely not coffee can sounding... but i've also heard some good stuff about the stillen exhaust.

... ha, i just realized how old this post is

Stillen exhaust is nice but also the nismo is great too. Heard the nismo gave a deeper growling noise compared to the stillen.

What kind of horsepower gains can you expect from an exhaust system on a 2.5, I have an '07 and was just curious

hp on the dyno will only come back to probably like a gain of 4 or 5 bhp tops. but with a nice intake, header and full exhaust the differences can be alot. with the latter on my ride, i def. burn more rubber and feel an increase in low end power

What brand intake do you like?

tubing is tubing, almost identical for all brands, but the best filter for your intake on the market is K&N without a doubt.

K & N is good but requires oil. Aem is a dry flow which is better for your MAF.

your right about that mike, but if you can properly wash and oil the k&n filter, it will not cause any damage to the mass air flow or other sensors

I'm going to use a chambered muffler design such as Flowmaster or Summits Chambered Muffler... I have heard chambered mufflers on 4 cylinders and they dont sound bad at all... No high pitched ricey whine either.

Hey Mike, I was going to send you a PM but I didnt have enough posts yet. I was going to try the Ebay CAI with AEM filter like you have on your Alti but does yours have a heat shield? I was going to go for the $194 Injen CAI with half a heat shield or maybe just go for the $300 K&N or AEM kit with the hood seal and heat shield. These cars make alot of heat and I know for every 10 degrees you can cool the intake charge, theres power to be made. What do you think and how did your homemade CAI improve power, sound, and mpg?
