Hello everyone.
Just joined the forum.

I had an '04 Maxima SL so I'm not new to Nissans (http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2002-2006-nissan-altima-discussion-2-5-3-5/271784-intro.html#).
Got rid of that for a turbo (http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2002-2006-nissan-altima-discussion-2-5-3-5/271784-intro.html#) IS300 project.
Sold that car (http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2002-2006-nissan-altima-discussion-2-5-3-5/271784-intro.html#) and got an '05 Altima 3.5SL w/navi for my new job. It's greate to have another VQ35... my girlfriend has a G35 coupe and it reminded me of how I missed the Max.

A little more previous car history...
'88 Buick (http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2002-2006-nissan-altima-discussion-2-5-3-5/271784-intro.html#) Park Avenue
'97 Tiburon w/nitrous
'95 Eclipse for show

Welcome to the forums! ;)
Do you go to Cascades on the weekends? lol
I like it there. Some unique stuff in Georgia.
Do you have any pics of your ride?

Anyone else have that smell come into the cabin when accelerating hard?
I thought about it a little and it didn't seem right to have a cat right after the y-joint in our exhaust. It seemed to be too much of a bottle neck. When accelerating hard, I got the smell... One of the reasons I sold my '04 Maxima. Now that I have an '05 Altima 3.5SL, I get the same smell.

I couldn't find a replacement y-pipe, so I decided to raise the car and look underneath. I unbolted the two bolts after the cat, then unbolted the 2 bolts that hold the brace up to the bottom of the car. With the pipe hanging from the flex pipes, I just drilled several holes into inside of the catalytic material and made my own y-pipe. After removing all of the material, I started the car and gave it a few revs to blow everything out.
I don't think the car could have sounded any better!

Anyway, bolted the 4 bolts back up and took it for a long drive on the freeway. No more smell and improved gase mileage! Best free mod. What's even better is no MIL due to the worthless 3rd cat being behind the O2 sensors.
