I have a 2.5 S Altima 4 cylinder that I think is running high RPM's. At 60-70 mph my rpm's are around 2700, does that sound right? To me, it sounds like the motor is running really loud. Does anyone else have this or is this somewhat normal?

It should be around 700 rpm at idle in park but when you are driving it will change quite a bit. It depends on if you are driving on a flat surface, O/D on/off, loads on/off such as A/C. The 2.5 has never been a quiet engine. You could check your trans fluid and make sure it is at the proper level and doesn't look or smell burnt.

at 60-70 mph i get the same rpm range in my 04 2.5 S.....
