Default Automatic shifting issues

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 Nissan Altima and I noticed that it has a rough shift from first to second gear. Does this mean I should change my transmission fluid or what ?

There is a recall about this. There is a wire on the valve body relating to the pressure solenoid that needs to be soldered. Follow the link if you can. You might need to be a member in this site.

That's a tsb or a "suggested repair" if you exhibit issues that match. Recalls are repairs provided free of charge from the manufacturer regardless of age or mileage.

No recalls for that issue, generally it is a valve body issue. The repair procedure is to replace the valve body and if that dosent correct the problem then transmission.
Also have you checked the motor mounts in the car, broken mounts can give you a rough or harder shift feeling....

As dsmmace pointed out it's not really a recall, but a TSB. This TSB for hard first to second shift has been around for years and is extremely common. If you're interested I can send you a copy of the PDF file explaining what the issue is. Very easy fix.
