Default Bad News with my Altima

so yeah some bad news with my 2007 altima. IT DIED! I was driving and all of a sudden my steering wheel locked up, gas wasnt working at all and the engine just died! I managed to restart it but everytime I did the engine was revving and jerking the car and it died again. The car was no longer able to Idle. I was able to start it and step on the gas, it was the only way to get it moving, if i pressed gas lightly it would die again. So I had to floor it to get her to move. Luckily I happen to be a block away from the dealership I bought her at. So I managed to get here to the dealer. Now im at home waiting for the dealer to call me and give me the bad news. sucks so bad! If its goin be there for a day I hope they can give me a loaner car because I got school tommorow

yeah they gave me a rental. Good thing its still under warranty. Because the problem was the intake manifold, apparently it cracked and needs to be replaced. If it wasnt under warranty man would that be exspensive to fix.

The intake manifold cracked?!? That's almost unheard of! I'm not doubting you, but I have only heard of that happning to high mileage Thunderbirds and Mustangs with the 3.8 liter engine, and that occurred due to heat fatigue of the plastic.

I can see the engine sputtering and dying because it's sucking in all that unmetered air. Let us know how things go.

i know it is unheard of, Thats just what they told me. They told me high heat possibly caused it somehow, high heat around the manifold. I was so shocked this happened to a 2007 car, which is really weird. I dont know ill see how things go. should get it back tommorow

Ok got my car back, it runs great now. And I also did a thread about my brakes making a lot of noise when i brake. I asked them to check that for me and they said my calipers and breaks need to be replaced, they said it was a common problem to some of the altimas. Im waiting for the parts to come in and then I got to take it back in, they are replacing pads and calipers. They said the calipers arent releasing all the way causing a lot of squeeking. So that should happen next week.
