Default Best place to instal airfilter to get maximum air flow?

If I get a CAI for my 03 2.5 Altima, where is the best place to put the filter to get the maximum air flow?

CAIs for the 3rd gens run down into the bumper/wheel well cavity. That's a great place because it's further away from the hot engine bay air. So, I'd suggest the best place to put the filter is on the end of the CAI...

You can do like I did and cut a hole in the side of your bumper for better access to cooler air.

I might have to try putting the filter inside my bumper. I had my own CAI rigged before but I believe this time Ill do it the right way.

If I put my airfilter in the bumper/wheel well cavity will I need to leave my inner fender wells out of the car?

Nah, they stay in place. There's plenty of air flow through that cavity. Plus, it'll help keep chunks of mud & stuff from hitting the filter. With your filter down there, it will get dirty faster, but it's a compromise.

The way I had my rigged CAI was, I left the factory airbox and I put a 4 inch air duck work from behind where my foglight would go and ran it into my airbox. You could not see the duck work and it worked great, but now Im ready for something difrent.

So it was like an "ram air" type of intake? That's dope. I thought about doing that but didn't want to lose a fog to get it.

That would probably be the best bang for the buck because it's the coolest air possible. Would just need some insulation around the box and tubing inside the engine bay and it would rock!

It was real nice. I dont have fog lights on my car, but I do have the plastic pieces where the fog lights would go. My airbox had a big opening in it since I took the little air piece off from under the hood. The 4 inch duct work fit in it with no probelms. So I just clamped the 4 inch duck work behind the opening and ran it up to my factory air box. Then I made a plastic piece that I clamped the other end too and it shot straight up at my filter. The entire set up cost me 40 dollars and thats with a K&N filter. Going down the road I got plenty of air to my air filter.

The only reason I took it down is because my inner fender wheel wells fell out. They ended up dry rotting and then you could see the duct work after the fender wells were gone. Once I get new fender wells I might go back with my same set up.

I think that setup would outshine any WAI or CAI anyday. I have considered ditching my fog, but just haven't had the balls to do it yet.

On my front bumper below my foglight, the black housing has a hole in it that flow straight into the fujita. It was like that when I bought the car, is that not factory?

I don't follow your question...

As soon as I can Ill put a pic of the set up on here. My bumper is off my car right now, Im fixing to get it painted. It was a real easy set up, but once my bumper is back on Ill take a picture of the set up.
