Ive noticed that the Altima and Maxima HIDs have a sort of purplish color to them. I assume you mean the ones like BMWs have? The Bi-xenons?

If you don't have HIDs, I'd suggest a 35W kit. OEM is 35W and although you could do a 55W kit, there are more reports of the beam flaring with the higher power. And 35W is pretty bright as it is. As far as color, if you want the slight hint of blue without looking rice, max out at 6000K. Anything beyond has a lot more blue and starts getting into the the violet range, which then starts transforming your car into the rice mobile. Soon you'll be wearing tights and have a big R on your chest symbolizing Riceman, with a cape that doesn't give you the power to fly. OEM is 4300K and is noticeably more yellowish. Not like a halogen, but when compared to a 5000K, it's more white, less blue. A lot less blue.

on the subject of HIDs, 5k is diamond white and 6k is pure white with a hint of blue. I'm going to go with either 5k or 6k since the higher numbers like Penguinchit stated are more for personal preference or rice. Frankly the higher numbers start to diminish the output. I'd rather go for output than color because that's the whole point of HIDs...much better output and wider spread than with halogens.

Penguinchit, your comment about wearing a cape and an "R" on a shirt reminded me of that Seinfeld episode where Jerry was saying "I'm not an orgy guy!! Than I'd have to wear special robes, use special lotions!!"

you can to get the proper projector lenses but it's expensive. Plus having projector lenses will properly focus the HID lighting
