Default CAI Filter Q

I just ordered this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/160659757968...ht_6271wt_1396

and I plan I putting on a name brand filter. Any suggestions on what filter I should go with? and also what exact size one do I need. the sizing charts are giving me a headache.

Thanks

2.5s Auto

I did a bit more looking around.

Should these fit my ebay CAI? and if so what would do you all preffer the dry filter or the oiled?

You need a dry filter. I would suggest AEM.

AEM is owned by K&N now but I will go with the dry flow. K&N/AEM.

Are then K&N oiled OEM replacement filters any good? my mom is looking to maybe get that for her Prius. Been reading it gives a bit of a power boost. her biggest complaint about that car is obviously "its so slow"+ it would save some $ on filter replacement. im not about to put a CAI on that thing....not like there is room under the hood even if i wanted to try. I looked and i didnt see any dry flow OEM replacement filters from K&N/AEM.

Oh I didn't know that. The oiled filters can be harmful to your MAF though. My intake is 3" and I think that Ebay one is 2.75".

Wait until you get your intake then measure the outlet diameter. You don't want to be ordering over again.

the ebay description says 3" filter, the AEM site says its filter Flange Inside Diameter is 2.75"

ill def wait and if all else fails ill walk into the parts store with my CAI in hand and test fit filters...then order it from amazon because..its cheaper + no tax + free 2 day shipping (go prime!) :P

is the filter wrap a must have? I will get it if need be.

When you get your filter, make sure you clean it. I cleaned mine today after about 8 months and it was filthy. Took several buckets of water for it to come clean.

I actually don't know anyone that has a filter wrap. But I clean my filter every oil change. It's usually pretty dirty by then. It wouldn't hurt to clean your MAF while you're installing the intake either.
