Question control ipod from dash

i posted this question earlier, in the wrong forum i believe. i just got an 07 altima se-r. i paid 225 yesterday to have the ipod play through the factory bose. the installers knew nothing but to tell me most operate it from the ipod, not the head unit. well i want to operate from the bose head unit. while pushing buttons, i found out that the cat button on the stereo would toggle thru playlist. the up and down arrows on the right, will go from track to track. do any of you know what other functions i can control from the head unit.i assume the presets 1-6 can do something. thanks so much in advance.

I assume you have an 06 se-r, 07 was the body style change. Keep pushing buttons to find out. You would thinkit would be easier to operate using the ipod.

So what did the shop do to enable your ipod through your bose?

Damn $225 seems steep just to play the iPod through the stock HU. I paid $250 and got a double din touch screen that I can plug my iPod into and control it through the HU.

Hope you get it figured out.

Murph, where did you get your Double Din touch screen done? Do you have any links? I would love something like that in the 250 range. Just got my 06 altima a month ago. Any help is appreciated. THX

Hey Murph,
Would you mind posting pictures of your new head unit? I'm trying to find a new unit for my 06 altima SE. I have the bose in now but I want something that I can plug my iPod into and has bluetooth for calling.
