As mentioned in my new member post, and being a member of several altima forums I am finding many 2.5 owners specifically have reported an issue with what is a non-smooth experience when slowly acceleration from 0mph up to 40mph.
For me personally, I get a lot of hesitations or hiccups which makes it somewhat annoying and uncomfortable. I'm probably better off flooring it from a stop then trying to gradually accelerate.
Talking to a neighbor of mine who doesn't know much about Nissan, but knows quite a bit about CVT transmissions (he works for Yamaha)...said what I was telling him sounded like the belt was slipping at low RPM's. I explained to him a TSB I came across regarding a similar experience on Nissan's site, and how they install 2 torque rods and do a TCU reset and how that is supposed to help it.
But I do wonder if there is something else going on..such as the transmission fluid needing to get changed.
Anyways, have you guys seen this TSB (
NTB10-121a.pdf)? Sounds like its free and a part of customer satisfaction. Not really sure or understand how it can cause you to loose MPG's.
