My '97 GXE won't start. Just clicks rapidly. The lights were dim so I figured it was the battery. Still the same clicking after I replaced the battery. It'll start when I jump it. I drove it for a few hours and still nothing. I have replaced the alternator before and don't think it's that as a fresh battery did nothing. I tested for a bad ground and it wasn't that. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem sometimes with my 96 GXE.. its the two things connected on the top of the battery, tighten the part thats connected to the battery(the circular clamp thing) or wiggle it around so that theres a tight fit. I can't guarantee that it'll work, but it normally works for me. Sometimes you may need to repeat it a few times.

It is most likely your starter. Check your oil, fuel, oil pressure, cylinder psi, and all battery components.

sounds like a bad starter. but before buying a new one check your battery terminal connections.
