Hi,

There is a lot of engine noise when I go on freeways at high speeds, the noise is grinding (not very loud) and increases with speed. I checked the RPM it was about 3000 at speed of 60, 3500 at speed of 65, 4000 at speed of 70. Also when I appky brakes (the brakes work fine), the steering wheel vibrates until the speed is like 10 or the car comes to a halt. Can you please let me know the problem and also the solution?

Hey you should check your tires for irregular wear patterns. If that is not it try tightening lug nuts or checking the suspension system. If your engine is making the noise then i dont think I know what the problem is...good luck

Hi Silver Bullet,

Thanks a lot for your help and there is some wear on the front left tyre causing the vibration in the steering when I brake. As for the engine noise I think I need to get it checked...

Hi, 4000 rpm sounds high for 70 mph. My 06 alti with auto trans runs about 3000 rpm at 70 mph.
