How much are they? What does it do that the stock exhaust system doesn't besides sound different?

HP and torque increase would be minimal. It really is designed for better sound and look.

NIsmo exhaust is gonna cost you in terms of money though, the cheapest I have found it is here:
http://www.leeparts.com/nissan_altim...st_system.html

and here

http://www.nissanautosports.com/niss...m-897-prd1.htm

Dealership is gonna charge you around $900+ and then another $200 or so for Installation.

Best option, at least the one that I am gonna do later on is buy it online and then take it to the dealership and have them install it, Ill save money with that option...plus its the only option cuz shops around here wont install customer bought parts due to liability/insurance issue.

OP would get better gains if he does the exhaust closer to the engine first...Headers (even with a factory catback) will give a significant bump over what an aftermarket catback system will do.

@ the OP

aftermarket headers and exhausts are better than stock because they have less bends or at least the aftermarket bends are in lower degrees and there's more air flow than with stock. Stock piping is usually at 90 degrees so air flow is very restricted whereas aftermarket piping is usually 45 degrees, plus the material is better suited for less restriction.

The NISMO Cat-Back sounds Great & Helps with HP & TQ...
But I would also look into getting a Y-Pipe along with it & get rid of the 3rd CAT... (Computer wont now the difference & the HP is significant)
