Default FREE DIY mod for 1st gens with map lights

If you have a first gen you know how lame the map lights are, an if your sunroof is leaking on it... this can help

simple

-remove the panel,
-screws for the bulb plate pull this out
-notice the metal heat-shield in excess covering the bulb a bit
- bend it back away, as cutting is difficult in cases

now it should protect your bulb an such from leaky sunroofs if you haven't cut it
no real risk of the plastic drying up, as the bulb is very low wattage.

way more effective yet reversible if you find it blinding while you drive an read maps or whateva

just something that helped me..

peace
