Default Future owner - question about navi

My wife and I are looking to get an 08 Altima 2.5 SL with the navi.. I wanted to know if the navi can be programmed while driving.. I have noticed on some navi's that you have to have vehicle in drive to program. Most of the time, my wife will be programming while I am driving.. I know all the warnings about programming while driving. I had a TL and we have an Odyssey now and they could/can be programmed while driving.. Any help....

TIA

willie

You have to pull over and engage the parking brake in order to process some critical functions (IE: new destination, etc).. Everything else (i think) can be tampered with while driving.. I believe there is a hack for this available too.

all i have to do is stop, and you can change, but really save your money on navi and the car. I have 07 sl loaded, having terrible problems with seat rails, This is not a quality car and Nissan is not standing behind product, fixing same problems with same broken parts. This is a common problem ande Nissan knows about this.SAVE YOUR MONEY

Yeah, I have issues with my seat rails too.. When I take a turn to fast, it kinda pops left/right .. I'm going to discuss it with my dealership to see what they can do about it.

there response is to replace the seat rails, but they will go bad, mine have been replaced twice and need to be done again, they want to replace them with the same bad parts, the corporate techs told my dealer not to install untill they get a fix, the area rep said to install the rails, makes me wonder.

I would skip the navi option on the altima and buy a universal one instead. That way you can take it in another car if needed.
