Default Greddy Exhaust for '05 Altima SE-R... thinking about buying one

Hey guys, I found a Greddy Evo2 exhaust that's used and it's mad cheap. It was off of an '05 Altima SER that came into a junkyard and the guys there were smart enough to unbolt the exhaust and sell it =)

I looked up some sound clips of the Greddy Evo2 on Youtube and I really like it, but then again I know how exhaust sounds get really distorted when recorded. I figured I'd ask some of you guys to see if you've ever hear the Greddy exhaust or if you have the Evo2 installed on your car and have any input on it.

Thanks

I have a Greddy Evo2 system on my 05 SE-R with racing headers and it sounds loud and mean. If you keep your stock manifolds and cats, it'll still sound good but wont be border line obnoxious like mine. Hope that helps

i like the way my exhaust sounds stock, i would really like it to sound like the gt mustangs all mean and loud, would removing the cat and manifold help it or would it just sound like another hatchback civic with a big rice can on the end?

I'm assuming you have the 3.5 v-6 Manny so if you do go with a setup like mine with racing headers, which don't have cats, then it'll give it a real loud but deep tone. I don't think it really sounds like a 4 banger at all, you can tell it's a V-6. Go for it man.

Yea... I had created this thread because I found a Greddy Evo2 exhaust on eBay with a starting bid of $274.95 and there was like 5 days left on it. I was the highest bidder on it for about 3 days and then someone bid on it the 4th day. I out-bid them at about $285 and then all of a sudden on the 5th day it there was like a erruption of bidders and I ended up just giving up...

It was a used exhaust off of an '05 Altima SE-R that had found its way into a junkyard and the guys there were smart enough to take it off and throw it on eBay. The ending bid was about $550 with $60 shipping... I was willing to spend about $300-$450 on a cat-back but not $600+... I know that's a good price for that exhaust though because they go for about $960+ brand new on eBay.

I'm not sure what I'll get now but I want something louder than the stock exhaust, unless adding an intake and headers is going to make it louder.

The Evo2 sounds great but a little pricey.

I just put on a Magnaflow Cat-back system. It sounds great and was just over $400. It sounds deep like a Mustang GT I think. It is well made and all polished with 4" tips! The biggest sound improvement will be adding an intake though IMO.

Yeah, dont spend $600+ for a catback, but the maganaflow and the rest on the racingline downpipe, ur gonna get more bang for your buck. And yeah, I know, the Borla and Greddy sound nice but for the $400+ difference in price... is it really worth it?

I agree with Synergy. The Magnaflow is the best (quality, fit, sound, looks, pick one...) out there IMO. You are wasting money on higher priced systems. I see many exhaust shops endorse Magnaflow (for a reason). The extra money saved buys you the y-pipe, and much more HP! There is no ricey sound out of my car!! A nice low rumble until 4k, then it sounds beastly!
Choose wisely.
