Default 93 hassales

I have a 93 SE, but I have a manual transaxle. The problem you seem to be describing sounds like there is a wire that loses connection when it moves. It could be a short in your throttle body sensor cable, or one of hundred other things. One thing is for certain, if you can keep driving it, it will break, and when it finally does, the problem should be easier to find.

Now if the engine was rebuilt 40k miles ago then it is slightly possible that a wire is coming lose. If you are very lucky a visual inspection will show you some kind of lose connection or damaged wire. If you are unlucky you won't be able to see anything. If you are very unlucky, you can check the voltage on every wire in the vehicle and it will all check out ok, and the problem will still be there...

It could even be a lose fuse connection, that just over time has come lose. Unless you have the time or money to have the car combed over with fine teeth, you might as well just drive it until it stops going. When it stops going, then your problem will reveal itself completely, and you will be able to find out what is not getting power.

In my 93, I had a slight shudder during idle, and it turned out to be a combination of worn fuel pump and clogged EGR valve. But I was always able to drive my car with very little impact on preformance.

Suffice it to say, start with the fuses, then if you feel bored check the ignition system, and you are really bored, check all the wires in the harness...oh, my car still likes to shudder on me for no reason, but it still puts out for me when I push it. I'm too busy to be bored, lol.

Good Luck,
Jay

sounds like a intake manifold leak. spray carb spray on the manifold and see if the rpms level out.
