Question Intellikey beeps!

I went to play cards, and in the process of taking stuff into the building must have leaned something against the trunk open button. After I got inside, noticed the open trunk through a window, so went out and closed it. Later, while playing cards, I keep hearing a beep. Trying to place the source, I eventually removed the key from my pocket and found that the beep came from the intellikey! I went back outside, opened and closed the drivers side door (the car was locked before and after) and also opened and close the trunk again. This stopped the beep.

I asked the service department about this. They didn't think the key contained a sounding device. I re-read the manuals, nothing there.

So, what is up? Was the car merely feeling lonely and wanted a little attention? I just got it in late April. Any ideas?

So the key was beeping on its own? There is a thread in here about how easy it is to accidently press the button. I think your car just wanted to see you again!!!

However, the last time it beeped, the key was out in the open on a table, face up, and no one was touching it. The poor lonely car was a good 100 feet away in the parking lot outside.

The car has good reason to be a bit schizophrenic. At the 30 day check point I reported that the VDC kept going into error mode, and they ended up replacing the car computer. This meant the key thought it was a different car (or vice-versa) and both keys had to be re-programmed.

Anyway, I do love my Altima. I adore the CVT, am getting great gas mileage, love the precise handling, the adjustable cruise control, etc. etc. etc.
