Cool Just got a 2005 SE-R Would like some opinions.

Hi all, I'm new here but I introduced myself over here. I've taken some more pics of the car and I got the ugly pinstripes removed. I'm interested in some basic mods. LED taillights and better headlights eventually. Anything that improves MPG or reliability and longevity interests me. Also if I could make the car sounds a little meaner I'd be pleased, though I don't plan on street racing or anything like that. This is just my daily driver. Cosmetically the first thing I want to do is get new mirrors. The clear coat has faded off the top of them. I've seen a couple that look like stock but have some LEDs on them. Meh, I'd really prefer something with a more modern shape like the 4rth gen models have.

Never worked on a car before so I'm anything I do needs to be newbie ready I gotta start somewhere. Also my budget is pretty nill right now because I just bought a car! But I'd like to know what to save up for.

Here is an album of pics! You can see that the faded clear coat on the mirrors. Also I'm pretty sure all the lights and wheels are stock SE-R package stuff but not real sure. Like I said, I'm new.

Congrats on picking up a great car, you are the envy of most of the members here. and i warn you now, (before you have any mods) that one mod will lead to another and eventually you wont be able to stop. your ride is so clean!!! begin with something like an intake and hids(if not equipped) and that should be a good start. then tint it out. but honestly its a beauty out of the factory so you dont need to go crazy, esp. if your a newbie. just take care of it like regular matainence and 93 octane gas and it'll treat you well for many miles to come. good luck, and where are you located?

...oh and you dont have to replace the mirrors, you can pop off the faded plastic and get it sprayed or do it your self and glue it back on. if you do want to change them, they are interchangable with any year from 02-06.
...also those wheels are a VERY rare dealer option chrome. lucky bastard

Chrome factory wheels? I've never seen that option before. I would like to suggest a couple of things. Have a look at the nwp block plate and spacers. The block plate is listed after the spacers.

Also consider getting a cold air intake. It doesn't have to be a brand name. I got a cheap ebay one and replaced the filter with an AEM quality filter. It won't add much hp but it completely changes the sound of the motor.

Almost Every Nissan wheel nowadays is available in a variety of finishes including chrome. Dealer options so it'll be a ridiculous price

^^ I've never seen anyone with chrome se-r factory wheels. Usually they go the other way and have them powder coated black or smoke. I guess with dealer options anything is possible.

wow congrats on the purchase and very unique set of options. I was also not aware that the dealer had an option for chrome wheels. Atleast I have never seen a se-r in person w/ chrome wheels. LOL so consider yourself fortunate for that its extremmley rare and unique.

welcome to the alti forum

Congrats on your new ride!! You'll love the car, the first thing I started with on my se-r was the sp injen short ram intake and nwp block off plate. Your car comes standard with HID's as well and unique finish on the se-r rims.

NICE car...congrats!

I don't think your mirrors are faded...they just look like the covers were replaced and were not painted at all...you would know better than me tho, lol.

I love those wheels in chrome...never seen it before either, but it looks pretty nice.
