Default Manual tranny

have a friend with a manual tranny. He says every now and then teh clutch pedal gets stuck. Any ideas as to what may cause that?

Can you explain "stuck"? Stuck engaged, half engaged, stuck disengaged?

Obvious suggestions - Is there anything visibly interfering?
It could be a release bearing...

I am not sure. I would guess all the way. He asked, but I can't get a hold of him to ask all the way or partial

there is a recall i belive with that.... u have to take out the cluthc fluid and replace it with a better brake fluid .. i did it and havent had the problem for a year now

I think you may be on to something. The clutch fluid should be replaced with DOT 4 brake fluid if I remember correctly. Some guys have also replaced their clutch master and slave cylinder along with the fluid and have no further issues.

A few posts down there is a nice write up about a "sinking" clutch pedal. That is very good info.
