Default Manual Trans question

I have a 1996 gxe trans was busted when i got it, someone put a clutch in it and apparently didn't have the pilot aligned before tightening it down, but anyways i found a few replacements one is said to be an lsd, is there anyway of telling this visably? I see no tags and when turning input shaft you can stop one side of diff with fingers. I don't know how the nissan lsd works..figuring its similar to others. any info would be appreciated.

If you can stop one side while turning the input shaft then it is not a LSD. Also a LSD trans will have a bigger axle that goes into the trans, than a non-LSD.

Good for you finding a LSD trans. I have been searching the junkyards for one to rebuild for my 97 altima. Right now I have the power, just can't put it to the pavement. I've tried the Nismo Lsd setup. It was way to tight for street driving. I guess I'm stuck with the one wheel spin for the time.
