have my 07 2.5 altima w/30k for two months and hate it!! this car is a piece of ---- i tried to love it but can't. has a cold start rattle and sounds like a diesel until warm. dealers say this is normal. the best city mpg w/o air is 15 any suggestions besides burning. ps: it's not the heat shields

Keep being a pain in the a%% with them. My Altima got 23.5mpg today driving around town with a/c on full blast, about 23000 miles. Obviously there is something wrong with yours. Make a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs. Could the rattle have something to do with the timing chain? Mine actually did have a recall for an issue with the heat shield and the dealer's work fixed it.

issues so far with my wives' 07 , break assembly switch failed ( car would not register push on break pedal and start) , heat shiled feel off ! , key recall and intake filter recall. It has been a pain but a treat to drive , you are really getting ----ty gas mileage though , might want to get a compression test ( about $150) and go from there . It basically gives you a quick look at your engines' health.
