Default Mystery Engine Hum- 2005 Altima SE-R

New to the forum....I've got a 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R. Over the last few weeks, my engine has been humming....took it to Nissan and they said it was a motor mount issue. Seemed wrong to me.

Had a friend look at it...he thinks it may be a bad engine bearing...but couldn't locate it...

It's not covered under warranty anymore. Can anyone help me with this mystery noise?

I say make a vid of it and upload to photobucket, youtube, or streetfire and we could probably tell what it is. It could be a number of things and very hard to tell without actually hearing it.

hmmmm... I havent had any problems with '05 SER but then again I got the 100,000 mile warranty when I bought it 3 months ago (31K miles on it at the time). But if I start to hear anything I'll definately let you know especially since I can just bring it to the dealership and they have to fix it cuz of the warranty. If its the same thing you're experiencing then i'll just let you know what it was... but don't wait around for that to happen lol

Not sure about this but my friend had an '02 Sentra SE-R Spec V at the time that I did and whenever he let off his clutch and just let the car idle, his clutch or something on the same system as the clutch, would emmit this "rattling" sound from his engine bay. If he pressed the clutch down just a tiny bit it would stop but then when he moved his foot like an inch back to fully let off the clutch, the sound came back...

Does that sound like what's happening to you?

well it does come from the engine the rattling noise but not when the car is idle jus when i barely let go of the clutch and start acceleratin, its only if i do it slow cuz if i accelerate fast or anythin it wont do it
