Hi all. Brand new owner, got one this past Thursday. 2.5 model, black and thats about it. Was considering the Sonata and Optima as well. Chose the Altima due to (1) price and (2) reliability. I like the looks of the Altima over the Sonata, although Sonata was a bit roomier. The Optima is just sharp as hell....but we were not willing to step out of our target price range/budget. We think we made great choice, wife is primary driver and is thrilled to death.

Of course the 2.5 does not come with stereo system, so thats my next step. Narrowed down to the Kenwood double din head unit or Clarion CX201. However I have conflicting info about the read deck speakers. Best Buy says they are 6x9 speakers, Crutchfield says they are not. I trust Crutchfield over BBY, but it sure looks like a 6x9 cutout. I think I can mount them myself, but not going to try the side door 6.5 mounts.

Anyway, I can give a short review after its all installed.

Welcome, and congrats. Yea the new Optima and Sonata are nice those manufacture's have come a long way. But yes u made the right choice!
