Talking Newbie to Nissan and Forum

Hello everyone,
I live just outside Hanover, PA and work in Baltimore, MD at Black & Decker. I just purchased my first Nissan. New 08 Altima S 4cy CVT. WOW! So far I love my new car. She really pulls for a 4cy. Tight suspension and steering. The interior is what I was expecting from a Toyota Camry. I am training myself to be light-footed using the MPG bargraph. First couple of tank fulls only yielded about 24-25 MPG but lots of fun. Last 2 tank fulls yielded 29.2mpg, so I am learning (definitely needed to)! I am an ex-Toyota Camry owner...disgruntled that the new Camry just feels cheap especially inside. I kept my 99 Camry CE with 229K+. I really loved that car. I can only hope the Altima stands up to the test of time (and my right foot). I am still getting used to the CVT but it definitely beats the manual. I've got 3500 miles on her now with no rattles, creaks or loose anything.

Currently lovin life in my new wheels.

Welcome to the forums!
So you're saying you think the interior is crap?
The Camry's interior for the current model is pitiful.

Did you test the new Accord? Those are incredible.
The Altima (despite a few problems) and Accord are the only cars from the Japanese import mid size sedans i'd buy.

Definitely impressive power. My 99 Camry CE 4cy made me a believer that a 4cy could push a 3Klb car with power to spare but the Camry can't hold a candle to this 2.5!

NO...No you mis-understood my comment. The Altima's interior is what I expected in the 08 Camry and didn't see. The new Camry's interior totally turned me off. Throttle response sucked, and exterior fit & finish had issues like expossed windshield edges showing the laminations. It appears that Toyota has joined racks with the big 3...gotten arrogant and cheap. To tell the true, a Nissan wasn't even on my radar until after I test drove the 08 Camry. I love my 99 Camry CE, the 08 totally disappointed me. The morning after I tested the 08 Camry I was driving to work and an 08 Altima S with 18s in superchrome and tinted windows passed me. I almost ran into the car in front of me I was looking so hard. I have always liked the lines of the G35 but not the price. When I researched the Altima online I realized it is a poormans G37. Test driving it was all it took.... SOLD BABY!

I've always felt Honda's are for short people. I am 6'2" 280# NOT SMALL. Every Honda I have gotten into in the past had headroom issues for me. A buddy of mine at work just bought one. Pretty car with good form, fit & function and very solid feel. I road in it 2 weeks after buying my Altima and was pleasantly surprised to find I actually fit comfortably...at least in the passager side (the pecker won't let me drive it).

Was it the new Accord? Sedan or coupe?

It was the brand new 4dr sedan 4cy manual, alloys, sunroof etc. The pecker used to be a detailer... He is 27 and has owned 32 cars all under 5 years old. He has some great contacts...he said he paid 21300 for the Accord sedan. I called him a liar and he showed me the paper work.. I almost punched him. That was last month. Last weeks some 80yr old dude rear-ended him. He is selling the car, won't own one that has been in accident. MUST BE NICE...he'll probably make money selling it.
