Default Nismo exhaust voiding warranty

I just got a 2012 altima and wanted to install an exhaust but I don't want to void the warranty, so I'll settle for a nismo. Would a nismo exhaust void my factory warranty even if it was installed and bought from a nissan dealer? Thanks.

Bought and installed from a dealer would not void your warranty. When buying something other then a dealer installed product, you'll always run the risk of voided some sort of warranty. Some dealers are different then others. Some will have the mentality that if the modification was not related to the problem, then they'll fix it. Other dealers won't do anything if you do so much as change the wheels. Best bet is to check with your Nissan dealer before you install if you're nervous about it voiding warranty.

changing cat back is similar to changing the tires on your wheels. It should not void warranty it is not changing emissions related equipment. How the individual dealer perceives this is on them though.

That's true. How does the Nismo exhaust sound on a 3.5? I've watched a few YouTube videos but they're not very good quality.

The nismo exhuast on an altima will not sound like the 350z nismo
I wish it would
It should not void warranty if installed by a certified mechanic but check with your dealer first

adding a 350z exhaust will almost make it sound like one but you need the right headers too

How will the dealer know where you had it installed as long as its done correctly right? Since there is no modification needed it shouldn't have to be done at the dealer correct? i mean if u take your car in for a issue they arent gonna say let me see your receipt to check who installed your Nismo "Nissan" part...

The dealer would have record of it if you went through them, so they could check. But it shouldnt be an issue unless your dealer is that strict

LOL

Installing any part that is not OE you run the risk of voiding your warranty. It's BS but you just never know for sure.

If one dealer gives you a headache, take it off and go to another dealer. Too easy.

I thought there were consumer protection laws regarding warranties now. If you go in for a faulty camshaft sensor, the exhaust didn't cause it, so it's covered by the warranty.

Nismo parts are "Genuine Nissan", so no warranty issue. Just say you installed it yourself. Read some fine print here.
