Well infinity is Nissan. Actually after some research, a g35/37 sedan is a rwd/awd Altima with the 350/370z engine.

Yes, Infiniti is Nissan's upscale/luxury brand, just as Lexus is Toyota's, Acura is Honda's, Lincoln is Ford's, and Cadillac is GM's. Thus the comparison.

And FWIW, the G35/37 actually shares the same platform as the Z cars, while the Altima (last two generations anyway) shared the same platform with the Maxima, and now the Murano. The VQ35DE in the 3.5 Altimas is/has been the same engine used in the first 350Zs (and G35s), but the Altima has kept the same V6 all along, while the Z and G35/37 upgraded to the VQ35HR and later the VQ37HR.
