That' sucks that the insurance is being a pain, especially since THEY said they would pay for it since it's market value is high, but then they turn around and want to use aftermarket parts... annoying.

I like the first kit better than the second.. but I have to agree anything other than stock isn't my taste on these cars..

The first one is a photoshop. That photo has been passed around for years. The second body kit looks ok, but pails in comparison to the OE SER look.

See I don't agree. Well the SE-R bumpers do look good I think it looks to much like just another nissan to plain jane. I just talked to the Insurance and they are cutting me a check for $7,123.00

as of right now here is the plan for parts:

-the second body kit.

-OEM carbon fiber hood

-Rims not sure which ones yet. (open to suggestions looking for something not black but not silver and something that’s not all bling)

-Depo projector headlights: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06-Nissan-Altima-BLACK-Projector-Head-Light-DEPO-NEW-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2562fd264dQQitemZ16057 4547533QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries

-racingline lowering springs (might go full coil-overs not sure yet)

-racingline motor mounts
-racingline traction bars
-vias BOP
-grounding kit
-headers, with y-pipe and full exhaust
-ported polished head with cams, and a tune. ( I might wait on the head and get an LSD instead) (or a Maxima 6SPD with the LSD)
-full custom stereo using mostly MB quart and A/D/S stuff I have been hanging on to waiting for the right project to use it in!
-Might also ditch the stock seats and replace with some light weight racing seats. Anyone know what the stock seats weigh?

Things I will be selling is the OEM rear bumper, OEM struts/springs if I do full coil-overs, OEM side skirts, OEM exhaust, OEM 6SPD MTX if I do the swap.

One thing I thought about doing was not doing the body kit and staying all oem and doing a RWD swap instead. IDK need to research the parts needed to do that and see if it’s within the budget or not.

Also anyone know if there is any Carbon Fiber fenders made for these cars?

This is the only RWD conversion Altima and it's under construction.

Good luck with the build. Do you have a parts list from the body shop to make sure you've got everything covered?

I'm familier with that car. If i did the RWD it would stay a 3.5. I do have the price list. So far after parts paint and body kit i'm at around $3,700 So I have around 3K for performance stuff. not a lot if you start doing cams and the like. If I didn't do the body kit and kept it all oem I could probably do it for around 2500.

Well, figured I would update. I scored a front R34 bumper and rear Bomz I Think for cheap so there getting painted this week. I also picked up some of the DEPO headlights. They are designed for the H1 bulbs but looking at them adapting the OEM HID bulbs to them is going to be easy so there going on the car. The rest is going to be OEM ad its going up for sale.

Where are you at now with the car? I would take that check, part out the car, and buy something else. Buy mine lol

Still working through a few issues with the car, been sitting in my drive way for months now. The new headlight switch I was sent with my set of airbags was the wrong one. Plugged it in and the headlight switch controlled the wipers and the wiper switch did nothing. Got a new one ordered and all is well. Got the Depo projector headlights modified to fit the OEM hids with no issues as I suspected it was super easy. And they look 100% better then the OEM ones and the light output is sooooo much better now. I ordered a black chrome shift knob out of Germany to match the rest of the interior accents sense the OEM one was real worn down. Also picked up some 20" rims that look soooo much better than the tiny 18" stock rims. I thought from the beginning that they where way to small for the huge wheel wells that these cars have.

I made a huge mistake on the bodykit. The kit is an Extreme dymensions kit. I was told they had worked through there fitment and quality control issues and they were great now. So I stupidly had it painted without first making sure it fit on the car. So once I got it back from the painter I went to go put the back on and it went on with a lot of flexing and bending, and nothing lines up right. The driver tail light sticks out past the rear corner of the bumper almost a half an inch. The driver’s side of the trunk opening sticks out past the tail light almost an inch so the trunk hits it. Because I had to flex the bumper out so much to meet the corners the bottom of the bumper is bowed out a lot and it cracked at the passenger corner of the bumper cause how much I had to bend it out to get it to fit around the rear crash bar. Plus the holes for the tail pipes are super thin and the rear tail pipe are actually resting on the top and bottom of the opening so probably going to have to cut out the bottom of the opening so it doesn't melt the bumper. The front is so far off its pathetic. If I bolt it up at the fenders the top sticks out away from the radiator support almost 3 inches. It’s flexible enough that I can bend it to make it bolt up but it would make the lines all wrong to meet up with the headlights. In addition to that there is almost an inch gap on either side of the bumper where it meets the headlights on the sides. Only way to make it work right is to cut the bumper in about five pieces and then put it back together. I called ED and they were not willing to do anything with me directly said it had to be the shop I got it from. So contacted them and they are supposed to be working on it. It’s pathetic one of my friends got an e-bay kit and his fits better than mine does. If they’re willing to refund me my money I will probably just get OEM bumpers. If not hopefully they will at least send me new ones that fit something resembling decent.

So after having driven the car around for a week in San Antonio, I am going to have to say i was right on the bodykit. I had people constantly commenting on the car and how good it lookded. When it had the stock SE-R stuff no one even paid it notice.
