is this the style with the distr. on the back of the head. if so look for oil in the sensor on it or the wires. have you checked fuses. crank sensor might not be sending signal so no spark.

06chill,
you are 100% right on with the oil in the distributor and on the sensor.
I went to the yard and picked up a used one for $20.00 and swapped it out. Started on the first try. Looks like the "O" ring on the shaft wears out and lets oil into the cap. It just poured out of the cap when it came off.

Thanks, GAry

Default 97 Nissan Altima, No Spark

Hey Ive got a 97 Nissan Altima GXE, been having problems with it and just tested the spark and theres nothing. I took the distibutor cap off and there was no oil in there, the cap and rotor looked fine could the coil have gone bad? Ive also heard something about crank sensors, could it be that? How would I find out which one it is?

Another thing I went to put in new plugs and found about 2 inches of oil standing in the last spark plug well, anyone know what the problem there could be?
