Default The Official 4th Generation Gas Mileage Thread.

What have you been averaging in terms of miles per gallon of gas? List whether you have been driving with hard acceleration or not. Have you been driving more in the city or on the highway? I think this will be interesting.

I drive easy, trying to break her in properly. staying under 3500 RPM's for the most part, except for a few times to see what I got under the hood lol. I have been averaging about 28 MPG's I do a lot of freeway driving and some city drivingwith the a/c running as well. Maybe 65/35 percent freeway/city.

My wife gets about 28mpg to 32mpg. She drives it easy and this is mostly city driving.

Im a conservative driver now.. i drive about 70/30 city/highway. my last oil change i used mobil 1 synthetic. any suggestions to get my mpg up??@?!?!? i have 31000 miles currently.

Computer software error? Bring it to the dealer.. Have them look at it. DON'T let them charge you either.

I get about 21-22mpg city and 31 strictly highway driving. It's an 05 SE-R (3.5L ofcourse) and I've done a couple things recently to improve mileage. I did a BG air induction cleaning service on it (cleans out intake, throttle body, valves, combustion chamber, manifold, etc.) along with BG products 44k fuel treatment in the tank. Right away I noticed a difference in power and throttle response. The car has about 55k miles on it so I think there was definitely some carbon buildup that the service got rid of. I also changed the oil, starting out with a BG oil system cleaner and then put in fully synthetic Amsoil 5/30. I'm not sure yet of the mileage increase but the car runs like a raped ape!! Check out BG's website or go to your local dealer who carries their products; I'm a believer. Thanks

That's not bad AT ALL for a V6.
Glad to hear it's doing so well.

i have ran 2 tanks through mine and got at least 430 miles out of each tank 60/40 city/highway. 2.5 with the cvt. these cars have amazing power and fuel economy for a larger 4cyl sedan. i love mine. taking a road trip this weekend. i think i can pull 520 miles!!

Another update:
Not too happy, considering my other tank was the same amount of driving.
50/50 City/Highway.
Same gas company. (Chevron)
My tank yielded 24.9.
WORST EVER.
Something isn't right.

Just an add:
The worst tank my Accord ever got was during break-in. It was 26.1 MPG.
The best was 38.4.

Thanks for the reply Altima SL. Have you tried using synthetic oil in your 2.5? If not, I'd try that and just make sure all your tire pressures are where they need to be and maybe your mileage will increase as you put more miles on your vehicle. 4k miles is still pretty new I guess.

I just had an oil change. I am almost at 5k now. But i don't plan on keeping this car long so using synthetic would be pointless.
