Default radar detector hardwire?

has anyone hardwired a radar detector into their rearview mirror? im looking to do this

You might be aware already, but in some states they are not welcome. If you hardwire it in, you might have a problem with the local law officer. You might want some type of disconnect on it, just in case....

No problem. I could only dream about using a detector. They are illegal in Canada.

Okay...this looks like a cool install, but why would anyone want to have the detectors main unit so visible? In this case his is right at the top of the rear window...

I'm glad I haven't bought one of these yet...but I plan to. I thought the whole point was to be able to completely hide the entire unit...

Whats the deal?

im probably wiring my in tmrw, but i guess the guy with the 350Z did that so he has maximum coverage from his radar

so hardwiring it seemed too much work for me so i did a very very clean wire tuck and it turned out great
