Default A real BONEHEAD move

Help!

New to this forum but not new to doing stupid things. What this time? Well the other day I decided to detail my 2003 2.5. While washing the outside I decided to lift the hood and clean up around the vents etc. I thought I was careful not to get water in or around anything electrical, however, it appears that I wasn't careful enough. After finishing I went to start the car and immediately noticed the service engine light was visible. That's not the only thing, it's hard to start and is sluggish when the gas pedal is depressed. It will slowly get up to speed but not with the same umph! as before. What gives? Any thoughts or sugestion are welcome.

thanks in advance

It really sounds like you have some water down and around your spark pluggs. I had the same problem with a friend of mine. no power up hills either? Easiest and cheapest way to fix it is to just get some paper towels and start trying to soak up the water in there. but just don't take out the spark plugs. until your sure all water is gone.
