Question remote starter problems with push button start?

i was wondering if anyone has heard of any problems with installing a after market remote starter system in a 2008 Altima 3.5 SE sedan with the push button start? I went to two different installers in my local area and one said not a problem and the other said that they couldn't do it do to some issues with the cars computer, so i was inquiring to if anyone has heard of any issues with this?

Thanks.

Yes they suck with push button start cars . Our 07 got it installed at the dealership when we just purchased it and only works inside the car...I almost want to take it off and put in on my z.

have you heard of any after market manufacturer that will be making one that will work with the push button start cars? It would be nice to get one since I live in North Dakota and the winters here are something wicked. Thanks for your post.

They said that they were trying a new one with a different tranceiver but I didn't want to shell out any more $$ and never went back to that dealership ( various reasons) . It's funny though it has to do with the key fob , it worked wonderfully for a while but once they ( key fob) were reprogrammed , the remote start no longer worked. Let me know if you do come across a model that is proven to work.

I don't how a remote starter would work with a push button start but I am hoping to get a remote start for my new altima. Here in California My dealer doesn't have any information yet about remote starter.

I was going to start my own thread, but why not bump this one. I just bought my wife a 2009 Altima 2.5 with the push button. Her old car had a remote starter and she really would like one on the Altima, New England weather and no garage sucks. One shop that a friend works at quoted me over $600 for the Compustar that will work with the push button, CRAZY. I did find one online (google search XK811) Autotoys has the setup for $210, says it only takes 1 hour to install.

Anyone have any experience with it, or any other starter that works with the Push Start and retains use of the key fob?

I asked two local dealers about adding a remote starter for a 2010 about a month ago. One told me their just wasn't any available. The other dealer said they had tried two different brands of remote starters but there was so much trouble with the compatibility with the onboard computer and other electronics that they took both of them out of the vehicles. They didn't work as advertised and caused the owners a lot of anguish. He didn't know of any that work with the new Altimas and wouldn't recommend one.

Hmmm.. I have one in my Altima and I have no issues with it. As long as you have a proper Imobilizer By Pass modual it should work no problem. I will take video to back this up.

We trust you! What brand of Remote do you have? Is it aftermarket or OEM? Maybe the guy was lucky installing it. I'd love to be able to install one in my daughters car. I'm in New England so it would be nice to have one. Thanks.

My law firm is working on a class action lawsuit involving vehicles of all makes and models which have keyless, push-button ignition systems. If you own a vehicle with one of these systems, I would love to hear more about your experience sometime if you are so inclined. There may be a potentially dangerous defect in the design.

You can reach me any time at (202) 379-4899 or kedwards@ levjen.com. Any information you can provide would be very beneficial.

Thanks,
Kip

What is the "dangerous defect"? I haven't heard of any particular issues other than no Remote Start for some of them.

Default Remote starter issues

I don't think so there is any issues. But there could be one problem. After installing remote starter, there could be a problem with TPMS system. Your car could be give you a tpms sign. Even everything will be ok. But still it will show you the sign. That's possibilities.
