Default Remote starters...

Hi all, new here:

I've searched the threads for fourth generation Altima's regarding remote starters and the only thing I could find were from last year...and what I read wasn't all that promising regarding putting remote starters in the Altima.

I just recently purchased a 2008 2.5 SL Altima (push-button start) on Nov 17th. My old car had a remote start and I will very well like to put one in the Altima.

Seeing that its a year later, I'm wondering has any one found a brand that works well with the Altima push button system? Can anyone help me bypass any hiccups...as I live in Chicago and our winters are brutal and I just had a baby 4 months ago and it would be nice if he could enter into a nice warm car. Hubby might not appreciate me making him go out to start the car... Thanks

Hi there! I am new to this forum but in the same situation (sans baby) so would love current input as well. I found a place in Alsip that will install for $379 and they specifically asked if it was the push button start so assuming they know the underlying issues.

Vital on nissanclub forums took his sedan to the dealer to find out why his remote start didn't work and his pics/thread sure makes me NOT want to get one!!

I have a compustar single button command start in my 08 altima 2.5 SL. It works fine but I live where it's pretty cold. I can't set my interior heat on Max and command start it twice in a row without setting off a P0128 code. (Cold start thermostat code) If I set it off I just clear it and move on. But I work for a dealer so this isn't much of an issue.

There have been so many updates on the proper wiring to splice into over the years. I would ask your local dealer who they use or recommend. Do not go to a big box store to have your command start installed. I have seen lots of

Rumor has it starting in 2013 redesigned Nissans are getting factory command start accessory options.
