Default removing automatic shift lever.

i have a 93 altima auto floor shifter. i bought an aftermarket shift knob for it. i know i have to relocate my od button. i removed the two screws on the lever, but it wont pull up far enough to access any wiring for the od button. anyone know where there is a harness or anything like that i could unplug rather than blind cutting the od button out and fixing my mess later?
