Default Rough idle

hey im new here purchased a 97 altima se a couple weeks ago. the engine vibrated when idle or going about 10-20 mph. no heat and when stopping at a light the rpm would be between 1000-2000. when it comes to cars i know so much so i changed the thermostat, radiator ( radiator is clogged and disgusting) and water pump. idle wasnt so rough had heat and car stopped over heating. until this morning i was driving to work and my check engine light is on. now when at a light rpm is between 500-1000 is that normal? i know i sound stupid lol but i am new to owning a nissan and idk what to hear for and so forth.....thanks

It sounds like you have one cylinder that is not firing. try this, with the engige idling. pull one plug wire at time the engine will get rough on each cyliunder that is working. When you get to the cylinder that is not workiing/ there will be no change That will be the one , First check for spark , if you have spark your problem could be tjhe fuel injector, I have just had this problem/ and fixed it . GOOD LUCK

It should be no lower than 500. Mine is tuned to around 850. Use the screw trick and see your engine light flashes, I can post the link if you don't know how to do that. Or have an autoparts store read it, then post what your error code is. If one cylinder wasn't firing you'd hear it as well. If that's the issue, you may just have a faulty spark plug, they get old and nasty after time.
