Default RPM hang re-visited!

So I know there are some others that have this issue and wanted to mention that not only does my car rev up to 3k when coming to a stop with the clucth in (sometimes it will stay there up to 30 seconds), the only way to get it to come down is to rev it higher and it doesn't always work, plus it hangs in between shifts.

It also does it when in gear, like on the freeway my car will drive it self just as if I have the cruise control on and it will sometimes do that for up to a minute, not good! Any thoughts on what it could be, maybe the throttle position sensor? I really don't want to take it to the "Stealer" if I can figure it out myself. BTW it's an 07 3.5 6spd. Thanks in advance for any comments, gotta figure this out because other than this she runs like a champ!!

Probably is the throttle motor, the Dealer might just need to calibrate it, used to happen to my 03 Sentra. Worse case they might have to change it.

When you say throttle motor, are you talking about an electric motor that runs the electric throttle? Thanks for the response!

Well, what's typically known as a "throttle body" is a throttle motor on our cars, because it operates electronically instead of mechanically. So yes you are correct. And instead of a throttle position sensor it appears the throttle motor is used to measure the opening angle of the throttle blade, so I doubt these cars have a tps.
