Default SE-R Type Tail Light Install

First off, this was very easy. And all you need is an 8mm Open End Wrench and a flat head screw driver.

Step 1: Use the flat head to pop up the plastic retainer behind the tail light in the trunk. Just the top one needs to come off.

Step 2: Use the 8mm wrench and unscrew the two bolts holding the light in. (You might not see it right away because there these 2 white plastic retainers there holding the wiring, just slide em off)

Step 3: Disconnect the wiring.

Step 4 : Pull out the tail light.

Step 5: Slide the new one in, connect the wiring, bolt on the screws, pop in the retainers and you're done.

*One thing I did not like was the fact that the rubber grommet on the new tail light was bigger than the original so did not fit right, looks messy but you will not see it once install is complete. Took me 10 minutes for the whole job.

Nice! Now you should get the SE-R badge and stuff to go along with it!

So you'll have a true SE-R WITHOUT the engine.

Does anyone know where is the best place to get SE-R tails as I have heard of some fitment issues with some of the aftermarket tails?

I got mine at www.autolightsbulbs.com It's $120 there and I had not issues what so ever. Theyre still on the car.

You could check out the classified section on --------------- as well. Might get lucky and find a used set.

I'd just get them off Ebay, I see them going there for around $100. I'll be getting mine from Ebay, but it's gonna be a little while before I can even think about getting SE-R tails. Seriously though, check out Ebay. A lot of people have gotten them from Ebay without any problems.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. Just purchased the car 2 weeks ago and for now, it's completely stock. Although one thing that seems different from other SE's is mine came with 5 spoke 17" wheels, and most other SE's I have seen have 6 spoke. Anyway, I have a long list of mods I plan on making. Thanks again for your responses.

I'd also get LEDs for those tail lights to make them stand out more at night!!

I'd rather just buy the LED SE-R replicas off of Ebay before buying an LED bulb for the normal tails. But that's just me..
