Default Should I buy this kid's car? 2007 3.5 SE 100k miles

Seems like it's in pretty good shape, and the price is right in line with the "fair" price on kbb. Seems like a young guy, he said he needs to get rid of it because of the note. Only problem is he installed a high performance throttle body/air intake (?), has a black bra on the front, and put some fancy bumper on. I've never owned a Nissan before, and I just had to junk a 98 honda civic (my first car) due to head gasket and other engine and transmission issues. I know these are high performance vehicles (to me it might as well be a lambo) but I'm not sure if I'd be buying some kid's toy race-car with 100k miles on the engine which he probably raped the crap out of. What do you guys think? I think my wife has talked me out of this one, so I came here to hear from people with experience.

i wouldnt buy a car that has some mods, especially if it was a kid owner because more than likely it was beaten up on. but thats just me. other people have bought cars with mods and had no problems
if you know a mechanic take it to them and have the car checked

Thanks for the advice, I am starting to lean heavily against this... It looks like a great car for a great price but if the engine's been ragged on...

I mean what are the chances that this kid didn't race it around with his friends all the time? I'm 26 and when I was in college I drove my civic like it was a v6 and it died after 180k miles, I feel like I'd be setting myself up for another premature death of an engine...

^ That gut feeling is probably right.

Well I have mods and I never go over 80 or floor it away from stop signs. I just keep it betwee 3-4k rpms when driving it in town and cruise on the hwy...but if u really want to know if he rags it. Ask him to do a normal drive off and drive by. See what he does
