i have a 2005 altima 3.5se 5mt and i was reading that the speed limiter was set at 140 but for some reason my car stops accelerating at around 115 on the track. and thats still in fourth does anyone have any input on this

i have a 05 altima 3.5 5spd as well and i've hit 148-149 without hitting the limiter...haven't pushed it further then that...i didnt need to at the time, the mustang gt got eaten alive =)

I have a 2005 3.5 SE. I hit 141mph and the car could have gone a little faster. The car had no perfomace mods at the time.

Try shifting into 5th its possible there is a limiter on 4th gear. Maybe? Let me know if it works.

I was in 5th, the petal just wasn't all the way down. I had to slow down for a turn before it topped out. I have been meaning to top it out since i've added a cold air intake.

The only thing i can think of is to check to make sure that every thing on the car is in working order.Some times a car wont let you speed if there is something wrong with it like overheating,misfire,spark plugs,etc

Dude, there is nothing wrong with your car. I have an 05 3.5 SE and had the same problem. You need to have your ECU reflashed. You may be able to get a Bullydog reprogrammer or any up to date reprogrammer for that matter to remedy the problem.
Nissan f*cked a few of us 3.5 Altima drivers and gave us this problem. (Easy fix though!)

---- you guys are nuts, 150 in an altima....ive got 170+ in my 200 but that had an assload of suspension and engine mods, the alti gets to high speeds in a hurry but i see no need to go over 80 unless im on the track now cause i have a little one now.

I hit 130 the other day in 5th think my rpm's were still pretty low...i stopped cuz i couldnt see the s2000 that got on my ass anymore =)
