Default Steering wheel controls....

My first post !! Yee-haw!

Tried searching and didn't find any info.

I have an 05 SE 3.5 that I just purchased. Replaced the factory stereo with an AVIC-D3. I wasn't expecting to be able to use the steering wheel cotrols for the stereo anymore but I also wasn't expecting to lose funtionality for the mileage/trip computer under the speedo. I know I can still use the little button under the guages but I like the ones on the steering wheel. Has anyone figured out how to get these working again after a stereo replacement?

Thanks in advance!

Chad

Everything should be after the stereo install. Sounds like you spliced into the wrong wire.

Actually didn't splice any wires. Used a wiring harness that just atached to 2 of the 3 factory harnesses. I am guessing the 3rd harness that used to plug into the factory stereo and is now just hanging there was for the steering wheel controls. All of my cruise control stuff still work but the stuff on the left side of the wheel do nothing. I will probably start messing with some of the wires in that harness and see if tying a couple together will get the results I am looking for.

LOL... I had the same problem on mine... i have the avic d1 and i used the PAC steering wheel adapter.. so everything works as new. You should seriously consider buying one because all that splicing and messing around with wires is time consuming and messy. i have the link to one off of ebay.....

Default PAC's SWI-PS

I am looking to switch out my old wheel controls so they work with my after-market radio. The new control wheel computer model is PAC SWI-PS. anybody know where to get this for less that 80.00??? new or used is fine.
