Default Stereo Upgrade

First of all thanks in advance for your help gentlemen...I recently bought a 2008 2.5SL and would like to upgrade my stereo. I have the non-bose cd player, no bells or whistles. I have a 7" in dash dvd player (Pioneer AVH-4300DVD) to put in, was just hoping for a little guidance. I found the replacement dash trim kit and harness already so no help needed there, was just hoping someone had some pictures of their aftermarket in dash dvd in their Altima, or if there is even a write up or something on the site? Hoping for a little guidance on the best dash trim kit to but and any installation tips needed. Like I said thanks again, any tips or help you could lend me for this install would be greatly appreciated.

do yopu plan on upgrading the front door speakers to components and replacing the rear 6x9's?? Most people do that. I also put in 6.5" components in the front doors, wired in the tweeters in the oem dash location to make it look oem, replaced the 6x9's, but I have a 2 channel amp powering the components and my single jvc din powering the 6x9's, mono block amp powering a single 12" 1100 watt sub.

I think there might be a how-to on the nissan club forums..

Metra is the best dash kit, hands down.

My only tip beyond that is to be patient...take you're time, and be double sure of your wires before making your connections.

+1 on Metra kit. Crutchfield uses the Scosche dash kit which is mediocre.

Here's what my Sony unit looks like with the factory bezel. The car is a base model that had storage pockets (seen on top) rather than a radio. The installation was a breeze.

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are dash kits that have the same trim? I have a 2008 atima with black ineterrior and it isn't solid black like the dash kit. it's like a groove to it, and the dash kit is solid black and it's flat, so it doesn't match. it doesn't look OEM at all, even though it's still black. I have the scosche dash kit. Is the metra one grooved the way the stock one is?
