Default Taking head and taillights apart. Please help!!

I am wanting to paint my headlight and taillight housings. I know I have to take the clear lens covers off. How hard is it to take the lens covers off and once I get the housings painted how can I get the clear lens to bond back to the head and taillight housings?

For the headlights you throw them in the oven and pull the lenses from the housings. Here's a DIY video..
For the tail lights you would have to use a dremel and actually cut the lenses off. It would be much easier and less time consuming to just get some SE-R tails off Ebay. When you paint the inside of either make sure you let the paint fully cure before sealing back together. So expect to have the lights off your car for a full 2 days.

O ok. Thanks for the video. I didn't know the taillights had to be cut apart. Do you have HID headlight bulbs in your car and if so which ones did you go with?

I don't have them yet. When I get black housing headlights I'm going to order an HID kit at the same time. I've heard from many people that ddmtuning is the best place to get them from. Great price, great customer service, great lifetime warranty.

Short ram intake, SRS header, Vogtland lowering springs, Sony headunit, Skar VVX12 subs, Audiopipe 1500w amp, blue LED interior lighting, blacked out chrome trim, black grill, blacked out letters and emblem on back of car, and Momo floor mats if you count that as something lol.

O ok. I have short ram intake, black muffler, black wheels, black aftermarkter grill. I lowered mine but I just lowered the front of my car a inch and a half. I love the way it sits, I wish it was lower but Im fixning to have to get some new tires so Im going to get a little bit taller tires to take up what room in the fender that I have left. That way maybe it will play a trick on the eye and make my car look lower than it is. How hard was it for you to paint the chrome trim? I hate my chrome trim, I have all this black on my car and the chrome sticks out to much. I got rid of all the emblems on my trunk.

Did you get a whole exhaust system or just muffler? If you get bigger tires then your speedometer will be off. But that will fill your wheel wells more. I didn't paint it. I used trimbrite black tape, it's a molding tape. It's such a small change but looks SO much better. Here's a link to it..
I have 18" 2008 G35 wheels sitting in my garage. I planned on selling them to get 19s, but now that I'm short on money once again I might just get tires for them and throw them on once my current tires are bald. What kind of wheels do you have, and what size?
What else do you have planned for your car? Post up a pic of it.

No I just took my factory muffler off and had it powercoated black. My wheels are Motegi Racing rims they are just 16s, my tires at the time were in great shape so I did not want to get bigger wheels since i did not need new tires. Ill have to get my wife to post a pic of my car on here for me. You can go on Tirerack.com and my wheels are Motegi rims MR125. Im not sure what else I have planned for my car. I want to paint my taillight and headlight housings and I had thought about getting my hood powdercoated black but Im not sure how that will look.

Just to get front and rear sway bars, FSTB, maybe custom catback, and just some cosmetic things. I've decided not to get coilovers because I can just save that money for a car I can really have fun with.

It sounds like you have a nice car. I have had a couple of mini trucks that were in magazines but I never drove them. This Altima I really like it, its a some what sporty little car and I have to drive it every day. So Im just trying to make it look nice if I can. How do you think my hood would look black? I want to give it some what of a Fast and Furious look, but I dont want my car to look like crap either.

What color is your car? If you do paint the hood black then I would also paint the roof and trunk. There's an Altima in my area that's a bluish color with a black hood, roof, and trunk. I can take a pic of it for you next time I see it if you wanna see what it would look like.

That actually sounds just like the color this other Altima is. I'll definitely take a pic for you. I usually see it at a park on Wednesdays or Fridays, so I'll have the pic around then. I live in Jacksonville, FL.
